Changes to ENT referral pathways and accessing advice and guidance in TNW from 9 August
From 9 August 2021 the TNW Community ENT Service, delivered by Communitas Clinics, will open for new referrals. The new service will be available on e-RS to all TNW practices: TNW ENT Triage Service - Children 5 years+ and adults.
Important information for all GPs : Changes to Microbiology reports
The pathology laboratories of Barts Health, Lewisham & Greenwich and Homerton University Hospital NHS Trusts have formed a partnership; the East and South East London Pathology Partnership (ESEL). In the formation of ESEL we have reviewed and aligned the way we process samples and report Microbiology results.
Temporary Closure of Mile End X-Ray
The X-Ray at Mile End Hospital will be temporarily closed from Thursday 17 June.
Barts Health: Women allowed support throughout pregnancy
As of April 2021 and in line with government guidance Barts is allowing full access for partners/support person of pregnant women to attend all antenatal and postnatal appointments throughout their pregnancy journey.
Barts Health: If you are referred for a blood test you must remember to book online
We have noticed an increasing number of patients and parents of young patients attending blood test clinics at Whipps Cross without an appointment.
Closer collaboration between BHRUT and the Barts Health group
The pandemic brought NHS organisations and partners across north east London more closely together than ever before in responding to Covid, for the benefit of our patients and residents. In particular, BHRUT worked closely with the Barts Health group to co-ordinate care for critically-ill Covid patients and those with urgent and emergency needs, including transfers between hospitals.

Barts Health: In the absence of evidence, this is advice based on our experience and that of the national expert haematology MDT in managing this and similar conditions and the theoretical risks and benefits of interventions.

Barts phlebotomy clinics can now be pre booked online
As of Monday 8th March, the phlebotomy clinics (blood testing) at Whipps Cross Hospital, Heronwood and Galleon and Forest Medical Centre* which were previously only available as walk-in services are now available as pre-booked appointment slots . The service is only available to patients who have a blood test requested by Barts Health or a local GP.
