BHRUT Consultant to Consultant Policy
During the summer, we suspended the Consultant to Consultant Policy to enable a smoother process for clinicians and to make efficient changes for both primary and secondary care. We will be reviewing this process in the New Year to assess the impact and check the appropriateness in line with current system pressures.
BHRUT Endoscopy reports are no longer being sent by post
From today, Friday 17 December 2021 the endoscopy units for both Queen's Hospital (Clinical Diagnostic Unit) and King George Hospital (Juniper Endoscopy Unit) will be sending all endoscopy reports electronically to GP practices by email. The emails will go to the practice F code/discharge mailbox. This is the same inbox that clinic letters and discharge summaries are sent to.

NELFT Free Text messaging service for GPs - Talking Therapies
North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) Talking Therapies would like to use SMS text messages to signpost patients registered at practices across Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest to IAPT services, as well as provide them with information/guidance on mental health.

In recent years, there has been a big drive to increase the number of GPs being trained, to accommodate more medical students and Foundation doctors, and to recruit an increasing variety of health care professionals working in our primary care teams.
BHR - New Local incentive scheme for people with severe mental illnesses
A new LIS for SMI physical health checks to start January 2022 and run for a year with review in September; focusses on follow-ups to completed checks and mental health review for SMI patients with action plan and goals agreed with patient; Recovery Care Plan template to be provided by CEG.
BHRUT - Six week wait for routine paediatric bloods.
BHRUT have advised that there is currently a six week wait for routine paediatric bloods. In the meantime space has been made available on Dahlia ward at KGH, and is being created as a location on Swiftqueue to help ease waiting times.
