ENT Services replacement at Royal London Hospital
As you are aware Communitas have been providing ENT services across North East London. However, there are Adult and Paediatric Emergency Services at Royal London Hospital site that are still available on eRS. These services will be closed on eRS and replaced with email two day triage service.
Optometrist Referrals to Ophthalmology - Single Point of Access (SPoA) for City and Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest
On 30 October 2023 a new single point of access for optometrist referrals was made available for the Inner North East London boroughs. The outer boroughs have an existing services which remains unchanged.

A single point of access (SPoA) for optometrist referrals is shortly to go live on the 30 October. This will allow community Optometrists to refer directly to Secondary care without the need for a GP referral.

Proposed changes to eye surgery in North Central London
The NHS in North Central London (NCL) has developed proposals which will allow an estimated additional 3,000 eye (ophthalmology) surgery procedures to take place a year and reduce waits for sight saving surgery for some patients by up to four weeks.
