BHRUT - Breast U35 triage
BHRUT has been receiving a very high number of suspected cancer referrals. Whilst the breast service and clinical teams have worked very hard to put on additional weekend and evening capacity, they are unable at this stage to meet the referral demand to see your patients within 14 days.
Elective Access policy for BHRUT
The Access policy sets out the ways in which the Trust ensures that patients who are referred to BHRUT have fair and equitable access to services and that services themselves have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in line with national performance standards for both elective care and cancer.
New FIT packs
During the next couple of weeks you will receive a large supply of FIT tubes, deliver directly to your practice; we hope this will be an improvement in the service for you and your patients.
Training on OneContact: helping you make long COVID referrals
We are providing further training sessions for GP practices on the use of OneContact, a new software tool which makes it easier to complete the long COVID referral form (as patients can be sent a link to a long COVID questionnaire, which they complete using OneContact, rather than the GP having to complete it).
From 1 Feb BHRUT no longer be providing a phlebotomy service for patients referred in on suspected cancer.
As of the beginning of this week patients could have a blood test within one day across BHR and so we ask GPs to ensure they use community phlebotomy.
