Majority of care homes in north east London are now compliant with data security standards

80% care homes across north east London are now compliant with Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) standards. This is the highest figure amongst London Integrated Care Boards.

The DSPT is an online self-assessment tool that allows organisations to measure their performance against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards.

All organisations that have access to NHS patient data and systems must use this toolkit to provide assurance that they are practising good data security and that personal information is handled correctly.

15% domiciliary care providers are DSPT compliant. This year’s target in north east London is 20%.

The north east London Digital Care Home team have worked on this initiative along with the Digital Champions.
