Urine monovette tubes are used for urine tests in the Biochemistry laboratory, particularly for urine albumin creatinine ratio (ACR) testing.
Frequently samples are overfilled with urine when they reach the laboratory meaning that samples need to be manually decanted. Tubes should only be filled up to 6 ml volume
In light of COVID-19 and in order to safeguard our laboratory staff from the 1 April 2020 the laboratory will no longer accept over-filled monovette tubes for analysis. These samples will be discarded.
