As a reminder, please can you complete the following survey by COP Tuesday 1 November: GP Survey - Supporting the collection of patient ethnicity to inform resource allocation.
Last Flu season (2021/22) NHSE identified that there were high levels of patient records which were incomplete, not including patient ethnicity. Working with partners, NHSE want to reduce the high levels of patient ethnicity recorded as ‘unknown’ so that data collection is accurate – informing which communities need support accessing immunisation programmes and allocate resources locally in accordance to need.
NHSE want to understand how you currently collect ethnicity data and identify any challenges you have experienced. The survey data will be used to develop resources to support you and your team to continuously collect data to reflect your patients’ needs.
NHSE understand that collecting data on ethnicity can be complex because of the subjective, multifaceted and changing nature of identification. We want to understand how you currently collect ethnicity data and identify any challenges you have experienced. The survey data will be used to develop resources to support you and your team to continuously collect data to reflect your patients’ needs.
