During the summer, we suspended the Consultant to Consultant Policy to enable a smoother process for clinicians and to make efficient changes for both primary and secondary care. We will be reviewing this process in the New Year to assess the impact and check the appropriateness in line with current system pressures.
We are aware that there have been some cases that have not been referred on appropriately, or directly, and this has had an impact on primary care so we would like to take this opportunity to remind all clinicians of the changes and we hope that you can see the benefits for both doctors and patients.
