Reminder to use the Single Point of Access (SPA) for all routine referrals for the following specialties:

• Dermatology (DMC)
• ENT (Communitas)
• Gastroenterology (Medefer)
• Ophthalmology (Evolutio)
• MSK SPA (for MSK Physiotherapy, Orthopaedics, Pain Management and Rheumatology)

Any direct referrals to secondary care providers bypassing the SPA will be rejected and could result in a delay in your patient being seen.  Please continue to use the existing referral forms for these services.

As before, any referrals should be marked with the patient's choice of acute provider so that if necessary the SPA providers can onward refer patients to their chosen secondary care provider.

We hope using the correct community SPA will simplify and enhance the clinical pathway for patients and GPs releasing secondary care capacity and supporting recovery and restoration of services from the Covid-19 pandemic.
