It has been agreed between the CCGs and BHRUT that for Diagnostic tests related to suspected Cancer pathways, patients will be offered 2 appointments at 2 different sites and then a CNS will follow up and offer a community site for the diagnostic – if the patient declines all offers then a letter will be sent back to the GP to advise them of this position, setting out the offers that have been made to the patient.
For routine diagnostics, patients will be offered 2 appointments at 2 different sites and again, if both are declined a letter will be sent back to the GP to advise them of this position, setting out the offers that have been made to the patient.
This will allow you then to discuss with your patient the best course of action taking into account that they are not currently willing/able to attend a diagnostic appointment
